What an adventure we had -- from start to finish. (Below you will see a short grouping of pictures.) So yes, I survived the Camp LoMia 5 day experience, which started the day after school got out. We had an awesome experience. Fun was had, the spirit was strong, and relationships were fined tuned.
Our Theme: Project Runway - "Be your own Kind of Beautiful."
We taught the 220 plus girls that true beauty comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a treat to work with these incredible YW. My favorite day at camp was Sunday.
Our staff and campers totalled 286. It rained the first two days of camp so we were surrounded by mud, had to switch classes around but it all worked out. We started with Plan A - which took months to prepare - and by the end of the day we were usually on Plan F. This was a year for improvising. :)
Scott joined us for the first 3 days. He helped the 4th years with their hike and repelling. Unfortunately he slipped on a rock (while carrying a heavy back pack full of wet repelling ropes) and had to swallow his pride. What man likes to fall in front of 40 YW hikers? He also helped in the kitchen and many other places around camp. It was great to have him join me and Austin took care of the 'fort' while we were away.
