The twins awoke early again to make it to A-hour.
They've decided they are not really fans of the 7:00 a.m. start time but
'all these things shall give the experience and be for thy good...'
The first game was at Maryvale High.
A 45 minute drive into Phoenix (in good traffic.) We happened to hit rush hour.
Toro's had a slam dunk game!
And the picture below highlights one of my favorite things to do. Watch my boys play sports. Or talk while my boys play sports. :) We enjoyed having Uncle Ster join in on the fun.
The tricky part about this game was that it went into over time. The score was 45 to 45 at the end of the 4th quarter. A few minutes later Toro's took the Jackrabbits. Keep in mind, Parker was suppose to be at Mtn. Vw. High for a holiday concert on the same night. His plan was to leave right after the game to make it in time. Obviously, overtime was not in the original plans. Just after the triumphant last shot, he said quick goodbyes to the team and he and his dad literally ran to the car and sped home. Parker changed into his Tux, they sped to school, ran from the parking lot to the auditorium and Parker found his chair as quickly as possible--violin in hand, just seconds before the curtain opened. Hat's off to Parker for sharing his talents, and hats off to Dad for helping PK multi-task. Unfortunately no pictures were taken of the occasion of Parker in his Tux. Which actually probably ended up being a good thing -- Parker realized during the performance that he didn't have time to zip up his zipper. Have you ever been in a concert with a violin in one hand and a bow in the other with an audience before you? With your zipper down? Using his quick thinking, when it was time to take a bow he strategically placed the violin in front of him at the close his performance. Bravo Parker.
